Go to Open Site Explorer and type in the domain of every one of the blogs on your own spreadsheet. OSE will show you the Domain Authority (DA) in the left-side column:
Document the DA for every site in the appropriate column of your spreadsheet.
If any of the blogs on your spreadsheet include a Domain Authority of under 30, highlight them leave them from the exercise.
Why? Because their Domain Name Authority is too low to have a positive impact on your DA.
Choosing your guest post topic
Some folks think the best topic is that the one they feel the most passionate about. They are wrong — when you are guest posting, it’s not about you personally, it is about the website owner. Or more exactly, it’s about the website proprietor. What is it that they wish to read about?
Eliminate your own agenda in the equation and you are probably going to wind up getting a much more concentrated post.
Another common mistake is when folks head over to a material search tool like BuzzSumo to see what’s trending, or comb through the remarks at the end of blog posts to learn what readers are asking about.
